LIGHT SLACK WAX
During the refining process of base oils, crude oil is used to obtain another type of slack wax. Due to its lower molecular weight and oil content, this wax has its own unique properties and applications.
DEFINITION AND FEATURES:
SLACK WAX: The refining of base oils produces slack wax, which is a type of paraffin wax.
LIGHT TYPE: The melting point of light slack wax is lower (between 30 and 50 degrees Celsius) and the oil content is lower than that of the heavy type.
COMPOSITION: The composition is composed of shorter-chain paraffins and a lower percentage of oil (around 5 to 15%).
PHYSICAL STATE: At room temperature, it is usually a semi-solid or solid with a white or cream color in its physical-chemical state.
